Project Details - Ocean Sciences Center - Memorial University Marine Lab
This project consisted of the design and construction of a 1500 m2 building, valued at nearly $2,000,000, to house facilities for the study of marine biology. The building’s primary structure is composed of steel members with a timber truss roof system. Large spans were incorporated into the design which was intricately developed using both a curved front and a curved roof to produce an elegant finished product. Our firm was the prime consultant and our responsibilities included the structural and civil designs, project coordination, contract administration and full on‑site construction inspection and quality control. For fga, the key personnel were Mr. Ken Tobin, P.Eng., and Mr. Ivan Hynes, P.Eng.
